    MAISON KRIEGER, in Louis XV style, late 19th century, oak frame of outstanding quality, rosewood veneer, cross-grained marquetry with various precious woods in the form of leaves and tendrils, polished finish in traditional artisanal technique, three drawers, free-standing design, finely chiselled gilt bronze fittings and top edging, the latter signed KRIEGER PARIS, supplemented gilt leather cover, 78 x 163 x 84 cm, beautiful professionally restored condition.

    Maison Millet, France, late 19th century, elegantly curved oak frame, mahogany and rosewood veneer, fine ornamental and floral marquetry with various partly dyed precious woods, with polished finish in traditional artisanal technique, one intermediate compartment, finely chiselled gilt bronze fittings, partly in the form of rams’ heads and leaves, intermediate compartment and top with edging, signed MILLET a PARIS, height 76 cm, diameter 53 cm, beautiful professionally restored condition.

    MAISON MILLET (1853-1918), established in Paris in 1853 by Théodore Millet, was renowned for crafting luxury furniture and gilded bronze objets d’art of exceptional quality, primarily inspired by 18th-century styles. The firm’s reputation for excellence led to collaborations with other esteemed cabinetmakers, including François Linke, to meet high demand. Maison Millet achieved significant acclaim, securing a gold medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris and the Grand Prix in 1900. The company operated as a manufacturer until 1902 and continued as a retailer until 1918​.

    So-called ‘bout de canapé’, based on an 18th century design by Bernard Vanrissenburgh, crafted by Gervais Maximilien Eugene DURAND in the late 19th century, stamped on the underside, curved oak frames, veneered with rosewood and mahogany, inlaid with various precious woods partly in cross-grained technique in the form of leafy tendrils, with polished finish in traditional artisanal technique, one drawer each, finely chiselled gilt bronze mounts, top with moulded edging, 73 x 62 x 38 cm, beautiful professionally restored condition.

    so-called ‘bureau plat’, in the Louis XVI style, based on an 18th-century model by the cabinet-maker Philippe Claude Montigny, crafted to a high standard in the late 19th century, freestanding design, oakwood frame with conical feet, satinwood veneer, decorated with marquetry panels and ornamental motifs with amaranth and diverse precious woods, polished finish, two drawers, finely chiselled gilt bronze mounts and edging flush with the top surface, 75.5 x 105 x 65 cm, in beautiful well-kept original condition with minor signs of age and use.
