Century, curved oak and hardwood frames, veneered with rosewood and rosewood as well as with various partly dyed and burnt precious woods florally and with musical instruments in finest quality, polished in traditional craft technique, each with a drawer and a leather-covered shelf, gilt finely chased bronze mounts, stamped ALIX (Georges François Alix) on the underside, approx. 72 x 52 x 37.5 cm, beautiful professionally restored condition. Georges-François ALIX (1846-1906). Important furniture maker and bronze doré producer in Paris in the 2nd half of the 19th century. He had an excellent clientele thanks to the outstanding quality of his products and also supplied his marquetry, leaves and bronzes to the best of his trade, such as François Linke, Maison Krieger and Maison Millet. He was an outstanding craftsman, enjoyed an excellent reputation and designed his furniture himself, although he only employed 2 workers in his studio.
